Title track might be my favorite on here now. Churchs and Curbside Goodbye are probably tied for it.

Cutthroat and Edge of the World are my faves
According to past me, I am not that fond of Smile the Face and the Dear Death songs at the end. Curious to see what I think of them now

if the Dear Deaths were a single track they would be the best song in Emery's discography

As it stands, it's the title cut and Part 2 for me. But mostly this album is all about the consistency. The floor is very, very high (and the floor is the first half of Edge of the World, but the second half is sublime so it's fine)

Least favorite is probably Closed Eyes, Open Hands for me, but I don't think that's even on the album version. Even still it's a solid post hardcore track. Part 1 starts great, but the kinda wack spanish at the end brings it down for me. Part 2 is great though.
Ending of Edge of the World is a definite album highlight.

I was actually thinking of combining them on audacity. They def feel incomplete without each other, which is kinda obvious with the whole part one and two thing, but still, why separate them in the first place
I def agree with the last minute or so of Edge being especially good, but I still love the whole thing
I don't think I have ever heard that one, em, is it a b side?

Not sure where it came from, whether a b side or bonus track, but it's on the spotify album.

I checked it on Youtube. It's fine but I could see why it didn't make the original cut. The CD version I have stops at Dear Death

Anyone get into the While Broken Hearts Prevail EP? It's the perfect accompaniment to this album and also a hard 5

I think I always assumed most of, if not all, was on here so I never checked it probs
When Em mentioned that other Eyes/Hands song, I looked at the track listing of the EP to see if it was apart of that (which it's not) and saw there are some other songs I have never heard on it, too, so yeah, should get on that soon, methinks

There are a couple of repeat songs, but you 100% must listen to the rest. Some of the songs are better than the ones here even

Umm.. This hasn't had a comment in almost 2 months. I check it at least once a year, and I can't be the person who lets it end. I'll do a score/review myself someday, but please allow me to be frank here.. I'm not a HUGE Emery fan. I LIKE the band and think that they are a great hybrid of many genres. Their music before and after this album are good to me. Really good at some points. That isn't how I feel about this release.
Week 1 purchase for me, and I remember it not clicking immediately. It took my wonderful brother (I'll show you what I typed here one day) to show me how good this really was/is. I remember reading the review speaking so highly of it, and this thread. I still come back once a year just to make sure it is still going.
I'm obsessed with what Emery did here. I think it is the pinnacle of post-hardcore (as is implied/stated by this review) and I love that this thread still carries weight and had the impression it did on so many others. My own review will be sloppy and not as complete as most reviews on this website, as I am not a musician and don't study music. I'll just explain the emotions of one setting of a listen, and the nostalgia that it will derive from me. I always fall back into my initial feelings with this album, and I'll share them with you guys soon (with an audience or not). Anyway. Thanks for continuing this and allowing someone who felt the same way as the original reviewer to relive a fine moment.

I think that was MichaelJordan posting scat pics everywhere, but I'm sure we weren't helping either.

also the band is reuniting with Tooth & Nail to release Put Some Dirt On It this summer which is fun
"Anyone get into the While Broken Hearts Prevail EP?"
