objectivity in music is such a thin concept. i know because i used to ride this train too in the past but it simply doesn't work. when you say something in music is objectively this and that what you really say is that you're ignorant enough to see the other side of the argument as a valid opinion.

There certainly is objectivity in music - how complex or inventive the melodies or harmonies or arrangements are, quality of performance/technical skills, the quality of production, mixing, etc. The subjectivity is in how you weigh those different aspects and in how the overall product makes you feel.
