I honestly thought most of the actors did fine, especially the guy that played Dickie, it’s just the movie around it is so fucking bizarre. It’s hard to believe the guy that made the fucking sopranos also made that.
And the retcon that junior had dickie killed was infuriating. I block that movie out of my mind when I watch the show.

Kinda reminds me of Breaking Bad in that sense. There's all the drama and crime stuff, but it's often so drenched in irony and crazy coincidences that you wonder if you're watching a black comedy disguised as a crime drama

Yeah Many Saints sucked, Chase fucked up on that one. He wanted to shove the Newark Riots down our throats but nobody cared about it. What we got was an overly convoluted movie that barely was about the DiMeo family

Sopranos season 1 is literally a fucking comedy. The show gets darker as it goes on but it never really loses that.
Tho in many Saints you do have Joey Diaz saying Dickies goomah is so hot he’d eat her shit, then immediately gets his face blown off. That was very unintentionally funny
