One might even argue Pompeji’s chorus is basically one chord as well.

I liked that pitchfork review, but agree it reads more than a 7.6. They just couldnt let it have BNM and feed more hype.

"“soft” and “heavy” sort of dissipate as concepts to me with Deftones." -alex robertson, yesterday

"Deftones’ ninth album reaches for a plane beyond loud and quiet" -andy kush of pitchfork, today

thinking of suing. nah the balance between/fusion of those two poles is probably a big part of Deftones Discourse (I got into them recently via my little brother, and really only SNW) im sure

Switch ceremony and headless Sowing and it's almost perfect.

"Switch ceremony and headless Sowing and it's almost perfect."

I dunno I find Headless to be the better melodic counterpart to Ceremony. Both are enjoyable.

I’ve only seen people talk about how much that song rules. What hot take? Except Sowing apparently thinks it’s the worst, okay.

Is it a hot take?? I think Ohms is probably top 3 for me, maybe even my fav. Only got better in the context of the rest of the album and it started off damn strong.

Totally agreed with Sowing's song ratings. Seriously, I was only three tracks into this and it immediately became one of my favourites this year.

Ohms is better in the context of the album than it is alone. I enjoy the riffs on it immensely but it offers little to latch onto melodically, which matters more to me than to others I'm sure.

Also, saying that I think it's the worst song here is equivalent to saying it would have been one of the very best from Gore, or a mid-tier song on any other Deftones album, so I'm alright with that.

Anybody get real hyped with that first synth in Genesis each time you spin this?
