"I’m the only one in a converge dick riding thread making the comparison. That is true. I have listened to the full album was very drunk last night when posting I didn’t finish dark horse, not sure why I said that. That is lame as hell that an arpeggio is considered a chord and I am truly gutted. I was more referring to converge as a whole, and the whole tryhardy/needy comments about new great falls/sprain albums taking themselves too seriously botb"

Converge "dick riding" on a Converge album thread with a well received albums and fans in the comment sections.

You Fail Me is their best in my opinion

We need more diversity in well regarded album threads. A bunch of people talking about how great an album is and contributing zero substance aside from “x song slaps/fucks” and talking about arbitrary rating points is boring as hell

And I agree yfm is their best

I’ll give my review right now: Instrumental force and prowess doesn’t supplant basic musical principles. A viscerally engaging record doesn’t begin to compensate for boring song structure, choppy flow (an issue with all converge records imo), and most importantly, the most laboriously vocally oversaturated record in existence. Wretched world is good. - that’s based off memory cause you’d have to pay me to listen to another converge record at this point

How can an album be engaging and boring at the same time? Hm. Also imagine calling a mathcore band “choppy” and thinking that’s somehow a criticism.

When did I say it’s boring? I said the song structure is boring. How do you venture out to make a criticism of something you didn’t even read properly? And ofc choppiness is a bad thing lol do you copium that hard for converge that you think that poor cohesion adds to the dissonance or something?

the only bad thing about this album is that Dark Horse kicks so much ass everything else is comparatively a letdown since that song is 5/5 and 11/10 intense men/

this is probably the most cohesive album in metalcore save for Jane Doe but we all have our own opinions. Album rules stupidly hard

A well-known good album being praised is not “dick riding”. It’s appreciating good music
