It's more then a tad overrated, sure its a 5 but people worship it like it's their god.

I certainly don't think it's overrated. Probably among my top 5 favorite records of all time, def on top 10.

I think it's overrated within the RH catalogue because they've done much better imo

An album ahead of its time and remains timeless. This is not shit.

Agreed with zakalwe. The pure angst-ridden theme throughout the record, the terrific instrumentation and Thom's whiny-yet-amazing vocal-delivery. The impact it had at the young people in the 90s - hell, not just the young people. My father got it for his birthday back in 1997, even he and my mother loved (and loves) it to death. It is a timeless masterpiece. Tracks as Paranoid Android, Karma Police, Exit Music, No Surprises, and more just show how diverse the record is, while still maintaining a red line. Epic and grandiose, yet horribly terrifying. A timeless record, as zakalwe said.
But hey, that's my opinion and view of the record

thanks

if you don't 5 this you think it's shit pls do you even music

I did not say that in the slightest way. Sure you can give this a 4 or whatever and still appreciate it. I just put out why I think it's a 5, plus it has a great nostalgic feeling to me.

Well said Prowler. Radiohead have done better (In Rainbows) but that comes nowhere near the initial impact this album had. This redefined British guitar music in the late 90s was the death knell to regurgitated brit pop nonsense and still sounds ground-breaking today.

in rainbows is like their weakest album

would you like these guys more if they were japs
