yeah it's kinda weird the way it turned out, cause you'd have thought that with the gap between albums they would have had some clear new direction. But I guess not being in the studio for so long, when it came down to it they didn't really know what they wanted (not to mention Thom wouldn't have been in a good place) and just hastily cobbled something together out of what they had and older material
