just listen to it, classifying it as "emotional college rock with post-hardcore influences" is stupid

"just listen to it, classifying it as "emotional college rock with post-hardcore influences" is stupid"

but it's correct. it's emotional, it rips off countless college rock bands, and it has post-hardcore influences.

you hate college rock? how is this even possible?

you're 18?!

also I'm using the 90s/early 2000s definition of posthardcore, none of that gay high pitched vocal shit.

am besides, just because I don't like a genre, doesn't mean I don't like bands in that genre.

for example, I don't like country (generally), and I definitely don't like modern mainstream pop. and yet: Taylor Swift.

i'm 19 and i exaggerated the point but it still applies, people in general agree that strict categorizations do not do this justice so why even bother i mean you make it sound like a 2.5 but you have it 5'd

I didn't expect Pixies, but the college rock rip-off tendencies is part of why I love it so much. These guys were listening to bands like the Wrens, Pavement, Dismemberment Plan, At the Drive-In when they were making this.

that's the point tho obviously to you swift isn't just any old country-influenced pop or you'd hate that too there's something more about it that "if you like country-influeneced pop" doesn't really do justice to

at least in your opinion

The Wrens is slowcore, basically slow emotional indie. The slow parts of this album are definitely reminiscent of slowcore bands like the Wrens.
