If the Jerry Cantrell solo does nothing to you I guess you miss some important vital organs my friend.

Think it's already been posted somewhere on the site but Abe dropped a snippet of one of the new songs on his IG live: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EQvoox-A1U
Sounds nothing like Deftones imo but I'm here for it anyways

Abe just said on a Q&A that the original release date was 24th of July but due to the circumstances it will get slightly pushed so we can probably expect the album august/september.

If we don’t get a new song tomorrow at that Beats 1 show with Zane, I’m gonna cry

Welp Chino was on Zane Lowe just now and said that while they would like to relesse it in late summer it might not make sense to do it if they can't support the album because of the virus. They are yet to decide what they are going to do.
That means we might get the album late 2020 if not early 2021.

Bummer man, I was really looking forward to this record and the tour.
I get it though, doesn’t make sense to come out with new material if you can’t support it.

I mean if they can't tour and make money who's gonna be able to afford the daily Jos Louis so it makes sense to delay until it's safe

At least they're financially secure enough to be able to do that. Not really trying to condemn the band or anything but I feel way worse for the artists who have basically no choice but to drop right now as scheduled, and I have a ton of respect for artists who have that security to wait it out like Deftones and are still dropping anyways. Artists barely make any money from streaming during normal life, let alone when everyone is stuck at home binge-ing netflix and chilling with their family all day.

Tbh I see no reason not to drop it sometime at the end of summer. This pandemic situation is not going to last more than another 4-5 months in any case (at least not in a way that would prevent daily life going back to normal). They can support it afterwards as much as they want. If anything they aren't making that much financially at the moment probably so a slight album sales boost (however little that may be) still might be a benefit. I very much doubt future Deftones' shows are going to get less attendance irregardless of whether they tour right after or sometime after they drop the album.

That’s incredibly optimistic but I truly hope you’re right.
I don’t see things going back to normal until next year.
