Borderline classic album. I distinctly remember turning this on for the first time and thinking “holy shit they did it again.” This was the last truly great Meshuggah record; violent sleep and immutable were a noticeable step down in my eyes.

They've never made anything that wasn't at least great

Gun to my head, I might say this is my favorite band of all time

The wax in your ears maybe. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

Their entire discography is amazing. Certainly there are albums that aren't as strong as others but all of them are at least good if not great.

Yeah I do NOT know why i slandered these bois for so long beyond just not wanting to hear music this mechanical and "cold" feeling. But this one got some damn ATMOSPHERE this rules

I will say "The Hurt That Finds You First" sounds off, particularly the drums. That snare is ear-fucking-grating but it randomly goes back to ruling after

Meshuggah is an acquired taste for many. Once I heard the Nothing Re-Issue which blew my mind, everything else suddenly seemed to make sense too in their discog. Genius level band.

That snare on that song in particular just has this ping-y sound that nothing else on the album has :/
