I'm saying diamond eyes isn't their second best, nor is this their best. but this is certainly better than diamond eyes. imo of course

This is like a messed up Diamond Eyes’ twin
DE is much more perfected and realized, this has some bad moments but beats DE in terms of experimentation and explosiveness
Pretty much equally great albums, I’d take DE over it though most of the times though

i thought you saying it was literally Diamond Eyes but better was dumb cos aside from being newer 'tones albums they're quite different

i do think they're really, really close in quality but, about as different as ATF & White Pony to me

Which, yes, I know in the grand scheme of things is not the greatest of differences in the world but, you know, enough to separate 'em sonically, in my mind

This and DE have the most in common as far as any 2 Deftones albums go. I think it's just the 8-string factor cause this is less poppy and more experimental overall.

i've always looked at Koi as perhaps the most unified, consistent of all their albums while Diamond Eyes was more of a song-by-song record. Koi also had more of an atmospheric thing going for it which kinda partenered it up more w/ SNW or Pony than this, imo

Yeah Koi No Yokan’s highlights are way better than DE’s (Leathers, Poltergeist, Tempest) but Swerve City and Romantic Dreams are pretty bad and DE has no single underwhelming moments
