This album has aged really well. I like it now way more than I did when it was released.

It really is. Even the weaker songs have fantastic moments, like the whole first half of Famine is so adventurous and engaging, but unfortunately loses its way toward the end.

I'm happy people aren't as hostile to this as they used to be for years.

Love this. Easily one of the best prog releases of the decade so far.

yes, I wouldn't go as far as calling this one of the best of the decade, but, I consider this as one of Opeth's most enjoyable albums.

New prog is pretty hit-and-miss for me but maybe I've missed out on some good stuff, who knows. I'd be interested in recs for ones that're better than this.

it's not that it's a bad album, but it mimicks a certain part of music history, so I don't think it's actually prog. For instance, The Raven that Refused to Sing is one of the best albums I've heard, but I can't think of it as truly progressive, because it goes back in time.

Recent prog albums that are not just noodling but are true masterpieces:

1. Haken - The Mountain

2. Storm Corrosion - Storm Corrosion

3. Riverside - ADHD

4. Rishloo - Feathergun

5. David Maxim Micic - Bilo 3.0

6. Leprous - Bilateral

7. Gazpacho - Demon

Storm Corrosion is the only good album there. Although I haven't heard David Maxim Micic.

This is easily one of the best and most refreshing prog albums I've heard in the past decade. Not that that's saying much at all but I genuinely do think this is excellent.
