Didn't follow him when solo, so I can't really tell... But when he joined Bruce for Accident of Birth he was great.

listened to only an album and didn't do much. More radio rock than ever. Although I kinda dig the song Silver And Gold. Need to listen to Accident.

Accident of Birth imo tops everything Maiden presented during the 90s.

the only considerably weaker track on piece of mind is quest for fire imo

and the debut is great but phantom of the opera overshadows well all the other songs

Caught Somewhere In Time and Aces High kill Prowler. Phantom of the Opera def rules all the way but you've got to give credit to Remember Tomorrow too. Best Iron Maiden ballad, if there is one.

Well, yeah, I guess. But then, who listens to Maiden for the lyrics?

Sure, they've had a few questionable moments (most of them during the 90's), but generally I consider Maiden better than most when it comes to lyrics.

Prowler is one of their best openers

This. Their first album is also one of their strongest and rules hard from start to finish.

Probably because it's terrifying how bad Angel and the Gambler was.

I mean, Futureal was a cool thing, and The Clansman is another one of those epics, but you know. w/e
