after i got my cd i jammed this a few times for the first time since release about a week ago and it got better since release. definitely feels like an Eminem album unlike others before. love it (even if i dont LOVE it)

honestly the whole thing would work better if the jokes were actually any good, and I know that sounds like a dumb point but his flow is fine, the beats are actually not terrible, it’s just when he turns the persona on nothing he’s saying is really crossing the line or being very funny.



I’m fine with offensive humor coming from literally anyone as long as it’s funny. Case in point: something like Doug Stanhope or Cum Town. Offensive as all hell but irreverent and fucking hilarious. This comes across more like Dave Chapelle from the last 5 years, real old man yelling at cloud energy.



The whole Christopher Reeves track started stupid, stayed stupid, but became oddly endearing by the end of it. It felt like I was transported back to a simpler time.



But yeah em has just lost his edge unfortunately. And the older I get the more I think maybe he never really even had it to begin with and I was just an impressionable angry little white kid. I go back to his classic era and god some of those songs just do not hit like they used to.

that’s the point, it’s ironic . he’s pointing out that the slim shady character as a concept and in reality is out of touch nowadays and there’s nothing for him to say but to retread on old schoolyard humor. that’s the whole point of guilty conscious 2 is to explain this
