It is unreal that grown ass adults are crying about the consequences of their actions on an old music forum. Each of you has done something *recent* to warrant being met with suspicion at the least and instead of adjusting your behavior (as in not turning these threads into a cesspit on the daily), you just persist in acting like fools and then commiserating here like there is some grand conspiracy against you. You would be treated like rational adults if you behaved that way.



And it is your own damn that Johnny gets under your skin. None of you know how to let shit go or laugh it off. It is truly astounding how un self-aware you lot are. But go on, keep feeling sorry for yourselves while you continue to stack on the reasons you are mocked elsewhere.

I don't care I just wish the people that do it had the balls to call a spade a spade and not go on the constant weird self righteous rants that they fail to see the irony in. that's the issue with a lot of people here I think. like just call me an idiot with shitty taste and have a laugh and move on. stop doing it and then taking yourselves super seriously and ranting about self awareness and maturity etc. it's embarrassing

reading through this thread is painful with the amount of inaccuracies



the discord server is completely different to the old ones from 2016-18ish, which were obvious cesspits, enough that me calling out racist users used to get me kicked from those servers every other week. the majority of users in the casual convo discord were either not involved in those servers or straight up not even on sput back then, so no, outside of about a dozen people, a few of which only check in every so often anyway, it's not the same users at all, nor would I say aside from maybe four or five users do any members of the server have much of a reputation for shit-stirring or toxicity on this site anyway (and I include myself amongst them despite barely posting here anymore).



do arguments happen in the discord? yeah, obviously. you stick well over a hundred people in the same digital space and there's bound to be odd conflicts, but outside of maybe once or twice a year, actual serious and toxic discussion as opposed to low-stakes petty back-and-forths is rare, and even then the small arguments are fairly infrequent and usually played up for a laugh (which maybe is harder to read for some people than others and i get it). sadly, i think a few people have left the discord over those small inconsequential arguments without realising that there's genuinely no hard feelings and most of the time any grievances are played up for the sake of arguing, which is dumb in and of itself but hey what you gonna do. any of those people are more than welcome back if they want to be there and will be accepted by everyone else, and i'm sure i have the backing of everyone else in saying that. i'm not saying the discord is perfect and i don't believe it ever can be, but compared to every other sput discord, and indeed the many many other discord communities i have been somewhat involved in over the years, casual convo is by far one of the friendliest, safest and genuinely positive servers there is.

i'm not really sure, what some people expect re: talking about sput or other users. sput is the reason the discord server exists and any of us are there in the first place. discussion about events on the site and posts people think are stupid is inevitable. no one there is going round targeting harassment at people, the most that ever happens is someone screenshots a comment or a list or a review and people call things a dumb take, or comment on the fact that it's 'that' user again, and move on. you know, the same thing that happens on sput every day and has done since this website has existed. as i said before, there are about 4 or 5 users out of 150 including myself who could be described as either toxic or having past issues with toxicity on sput, and most of us either barely interact with the site these days and/or have long since moved past trying to bait reactions out of people.



i also want to say about people being 'allowed in/not allowed in' the server. i wasn't on the server right at it's inception, but did join fairly soon after, around the start of 2021. at the time the server had around 30 members, and we now have well over 150. clearly, people are allowed in and indeed we regurlarly invite people who we think would be good fits for the server and are genuinely really nice and fun to have around, many of which are newer users on sput who have become some of the discord's most active members and we love and such. we usually don't open the floodgates with open invites because it's better for the server to add people gradually over time rather than have 50 randoms we don't particularly know jump in through an open invite link and upset the balance and positive atmosphere we have carefully created, and indeed in cases where invite links have somehow found their way to a wider range of users than was intended it's caused issues and conflicts that's taken time to remedy.

lastly, i just want to say that the discord server means a hell of a lot to me and has been one of my personal rocks the last three years or so. i've had to deal with a few difficult life changes in that time and having somewhere to go let off steam and talk to some of the nicest people i've ever interacted with online has been beyond helpful, and though we rib each other and shit-talk each other constantly, we all genuinely care about everyone else and look out for each other., and just a couple weeks back we had a great little meetup with four of us irl that meant a lot to me. the mischaracterisation here from people who either; mistakenly think the discord is the same users as the old shithole servers, or unfortunately took things personally when having a tiff when it wasn't meant that way is sad and many of those people are more than welcome to join back or for the first time i am sure. the mischaracterisation from people who were either; antagonistic shits who were aggressively attention-seeking or constantly baiting for arguments, or who have never been in the server but engage in the same behaviour on this site already is more to be expected.

this album made me go back to HIFN and i underappreciated how much of a slapper pink diamond is
