i'd say most big black metal albums nowadays have pretty clean production, especially compared to the 90s. what have you heard that turned you off?

lol nice
immortal- at the heart of winter and dissection- storm of the light's bane are two really good introductory albums, probably the best. winter has a great variety of riffs and storm is really melodic. i'd say give those an honest shot and tell me what you think. if you don't dig, the genre probably just isn't for you haha.

Yeah the classics may not speak to you. Many don’t to me. But like Futures said there’s tons nowadays with normal production that’s v good if the lofi bothers you

Also try bands that blend it with stuff you may prefer like death metal etc

Like, one of my favourite albums of all time is a BM album.
So it's not like I don't like BM.
Its from Falls of Rauros btw.
Those guys absolutely rule.
I would just appreciate some more diversity on the trending list like there used to be.
