I still love the bass grooves on The Grey. As a Rush fan, they’re utterly orgasmic to my ears

man first jam i was a little lukewarm on legion and idfk how since i am starting to think it might be their best track. definitely dan's best as a vocalist as he drops fuckin lows and michael jackson high notes like seconds apart lmao shit is kinda unbelievable

I can't even pick a favorite here. All of them have one or two phenomenal sections at the very least, and beautiful melodic passages. Legion is most impressive vocally, true, however The Grey and Echoes also slay in all regards, for example.
Also yeah, The Grey's bass grooves are great stuff, one of the reasons I adore that song.

yeah all the songs here are great. even sirens which used to kinda drag for me has won me over. drums in the chorus of that are ridiculous and once that 7th leading up to the 1 interval shows up shit is so satisfying

Agreed! I wasn't too satisfied with Sirens at first (something about it didn't sit right with me), but eventually I've grown to really like it too. I kinda feel like it's the worst song here, but it's still a 4/5 at least. Speaks a lot about the quality of the album as a whole.

i like that the master isnt crazy loud. gives this a wider dynamic range and more room to breathe, which in this style is refreshing lol

I hadn't really noticed until recently how quiet is, but I agree. It's refreshing to listen to an album without having to wipe blood from your ear.

agree - love the production of this record. suits it perfectly and so much dynamic range to absorb everything.

aight I definitely liked this a lot when listening through it, but it doesn't seem to have had immediately memorable moments like One, Altered State or Sonder did. Perhaps I need more listens

You put Måsstaden on the left side, War of Being in the center, and Februus on the right side and you have the holy trinity of djent.
