I go back and forth between thinking its cool and thinking its laughable, but it all gets quickly overshadowed by a lack of variety

Shell is probably the best use of the sound on here

This album is fundamentally no different from Abyssal, which is far more monotonous in execution, or Valde, which is maybe a bit better. Why this album is catching so much ire from the community here is strange.

This is good if the only component required in good music was being heavy, we dont live in that fantasy world tho

Idk it's like Black Tongue with more variety even if it's all different variants on heavy.

I like a good chug fest lol

it is growing on me more.. it takes me a while to learn the structures of the songs cause they are all a little bit different, which really throws me off. Linger is the easiest one to get into, but my current favorite is probably Labyrinthian, It is still a weird structure, but easier to understand than others. No issue with production, never had an issue with "brick-walled" production, just the same stupid debate as Fallujah Flesh Prevails. It's anti-boomer production, which I have to give big credit for filtering out the old people who love 80's Morbid Angel production recorded on a potato.

album is sick/their best work. spuntik's userbase has always and will always be flannel wearing folds arms at shows except when drinking an ipa thick framed glasses small beanie with scruffy facial hair incels or has a 4/10 gf who is unsatisfied sexually. i am 0% surprised anytime they give low reviews to anything with 7 or 8 strings and low growls. 0%.
