Apparently the song's about squirting...which, lol. this album doubles as a Deftones-y sexual record and a genuinely heartbreaking experience at the same time which I kinda fuck with

Emotions do be the most arbitrary metric for music m////////////////////
"purp jam Purple Jelly Disc this instant"
I believe I have and recall it ruling will have to revisit

"Emotions do be the most arbitrary metric for music m////////////////////"
they also do be one of the most important metrics as music is a subjective medium and trying to be "objective" and "unbiased" about a medium that's entirely based on emotional connection or how you feel, only leads to you coming off like a pretentious ass.

ur puddle deep reactions to the most unimaginative lyricism on earth does not constitute a metric i am sorry music exists outside of your head fingerpoint a single person in this thread pretending to be objective or unbiased being subjective does not magically set you free from having to substantiate your takes like an adult of baseline self-awareness i am sorry

People in this thread take life so seriously.
Interesting record for sure. I’m not sure I’m as sold on the content as I am the idea of it just yet, but I have a feeling this might genuinely be the Sunbather moment of the 2020s, in that 18 months from now this sound is going to be absolutely everywhere.

Have made too many comments here and am too lazy to remove them, in it for the long haul now tbh
In terms of metalcore/metalcore-adjacent genres, the dominant sound of the underground is nu-metalcore and despite being a trend for maybe 2 years, it has already gotten stale and played out lmao

Like you have Tallah and... that's really the only band worth a damn in that scene.
I think this album improves a fair bit with The Dark Pool-style vocals.

The choruses on this all hit so fucking well damn. I wish it had a bit more energy overall (another song like The Summoning would've been nice) but goddamn these guys know what they're doing. They've really found a niche for themselves. Like it or not, this will be a classic in modern "metal". The hype for these guys is justified and it's gonna stick.
