Vulnerability can be expressed in any metal genre. That's not exclusive to metalcore and the other punk rooted metal genres. Ne Obliviscaris is one of my faves and they have a lead singer/violin player that likes to dance around onstage. Not kvlt at all.

Definitely can, but apart from like gothic death-doom and melodic death/melodic black, it often feels like it's like 1 song in a album or sometimes whole discography (like in thrash or trad) that goes there.
