As a fan of early ensiferum, i kinda have to respect mithotyn because ensiferum definitely took heavy inspiration from them

I doubt Ensiferum knew about them, they're a pretty obscure band. Or maybe they were more known back when they were active

Difficult to say, as a huge fan of the OG Insomnium sound I personally don't have the stomach for the cinematic Vanhala-laden melo-spunk the band now secretes. Not enough riffs on the bone.

it has its awkwardities but is pretty much just the history of sominum put into a blender and you get an appreciable but not fantastic smoothie
