yeahhhhh released!
I think when we talk about being generic / formulaic, what we really complain about is being forgettable. if that is really the case, this one is absolutely generic, but also absolutely unforgettable.

Okay im pretty comfortable with my rating. I like 3 songs for sure (Title and skin beneath a scar,Mass grave) half like one (flesh to fill) everything else is just fine. This is a case of when i was younger would be my thing.
In an objective sense this is quite overblown and overrated. That being said I can understand how this band may hold a special place for people and if you love/adore this than all the power to you my dudes

My only beef with Sworn is that the chorus feels a little similar to "Haunt Me" from YNYA. Sworn is still a much stronger track, though.

I this finally the masterpiece I've been expecting these guys to deliver???

The first 3 singles and sworn are straightforward repetitions of their past patterns that didn't really interest me. It wasn't until mirrors and the later tracks that I got a big kick out of it.

Hoping this album is the one that finally makes me get the hype around this group (as a reformed scene kid)

okie I really enjoyed this lower-mid tier Counterparts album then. it's probably been 6-7 years since I've prepared that seriously for a concert. It is mostly memorizing lyrics. It is kinda difficult but still am feeling bumped.

Not supremely well versed in this band and I'm on the third track right now. So far, the really soaring choruses sound like Saosin produced by Joey Sturgis. Everything else has some pretty decent musicianship. Lead guitarist is probs the best part of this band. Will keep listening.

Chuckles telling “HauntMe” that a song sounds too much like “Haunt Me” is pretty comical

I stand by my score after giving this another spin. It's a solid 4. Lead guitars are the best part agreed.

Alright, just finished up here. "Unwavering Vow', "Mirrors" and "Mass Grave" are incredible. Really intense stuff and engaging to listen to. I think these three constitute some of the most engaging melodic hardcore/metalcore/whatever that's come out recently.
Unfortunately, the rest of the album isn't like these tracks. The majority of it is very passable, but in an "eh" sort of way. Ironically, considering I like "Mass Grave" so much, I think all the other instances of clean vocals on this album are trash. I will take back what I said about the lead guitarist being the best part of this band and instead bestow that title to both guitarists. They both have a really tight chemistry and it makes the riffs really fun to listen to.
This is the album I would've thought was the best thing since sliced bread when I was back in high school. I think that weird nostalgic feeling I got when listening to this helped smooth some of the flaws over for me. Decent album. I'll stick with END.
