Hey thanks for the info! I was saying that stuff based on all the shit going on in the DGD twitterverse. The algorithm is forcefeeding me posts from DGD fan accounts about how the crowds are disrespectful and violent.
As long as the band is vigilant and dissuades it, I’m cool with it. Glad you had fun in the sans Tilian timeline! Also, you’d be happy to know that at Alexisonfire’s most recent show in NYC, they said the Silver Springs crowd was better than our crowd (which honestly might be true lol). NYC crowds are so hit or miss.

Silver Spring is usually pretty tight and The Fillmore there is my favorite venue. Underoath actually said we were in the top 3 shows, rivaling their hometown one of the tour they just did. Silver Spring is just outside of DC though, so the crowd can be a bit different than the Baltimore people. There's gotta be something in the Old Bay that makes the crowds a little more lethargic.
And yeah I tweeted out a couple photos and positive things about the show and immediately gained multiple strawberry emoji followers. -_-

I think it’s a common dc metro area problem. I live in nova and there’s no venues here so I have to go into dc or Baltimore or silver spring for shows. So there’s not much of a cohesive “hometown” feel to the crowds

Also, their stage setup was cool as hell. They put up banners of each of their albums (which already looked great because no matter how you feel about the music itself, their album art is great) then had lights underneath them. Between the songs they'd have slot machine noises going off with red lights flashing under the banners and whichever song they were going to play, the light would turn white under it and stay lit up during the performance. It was really unique and a pretty neat gimmick to tie into the Jackoff Juicer.

I feel you on that chan. Nova being transplant central doesn't help either. I've always thought it was whack that bands will do tours with stops in Baltimore and Richmond but nothing closer to DC unless it's Silver Spring. Nobody ever plays 9:30 Club anymore either.

Wowowo 9:30 Club. Ive been to one show in DC and it was there - Arctic Monkeys, 2006ish I think? It was a cool spot.
Was there because my sister was moving into college and we decided to catch a show because she was super into Arctic Monkeys at the time. Fun show!

I've been there once and it was to see Coheed and Circa Survive in 2010. I'll finally be back in November to catch AFI. It's a great venue and used to be *the* spot in DC. Not sure why it's mostly fallen off the map for a lot of bands.

There, I fixed the album and made it into something that could be a 4. Makes me sick that I'm liking some of this more than I want but it's better on repeated listens.
One of my biggest gripes is that it's like these dudes forgot how to write great choruses. Everything up through Mothership had great ones and now you might get a few songs on their last 3 releases that have choruses that don't just sound like another bridge.

Most of these songs are either forgettable or just not very good. There are a few good stand outs but there's a lot of meh here. Pretty standard for a DGD record I guess, just way more filler. Andrew should just be the singer now
