gotta agree with the people saying this is pretty weak by converge or wolfe's standards, can't think of an album by either I'm less likely to return to

it's one of those collabs that sounds good on paper but inevitably ends up losing the unique features of each artist for a very middle-of-the-road approach

ill listen again tomorrow maybe but the hour runtime really disincentivizes me from doing so, if this was condensed down to about 40 minutes it might not have run out of ideas so quickly

gotta say I’m surprised this isn’t more liked.

I haven’t listened to anything else the entire weekend.

i think it's just tiringly long for me at points

like if you took out the second half of the album except for crimson stone i don't think it would miss anything and it'd be a solid 4 but it just drags on the backend

Cause it’s really not that special. There are some standout tracks but that’s it. Truthfully I feel like if this wasn’t Converge most people wouldn’t care.

And that’s not even meant to be a knock. This isn’t bad. It’s just middling

Damn man I love Daimon and Failure Forever

The last track is the only one I can take or leave but it does feel like it’s just kind of a little epilogue instead of a full blown song.

I don’t see why run times are an issue; you don’t have to listen to the whole album every time you play a record.

like yea you dont have to but at the same time wouldnt not wanting to listen to smth all the way through bc its too long make for a worse album? lol why wouldnt you want an album to justify its runtime all the way through?

fair i do be exclusively an albums guy. at the same time tho, like that does dock points off an album regardless of whether or not you just chuck your highlights onto a playlist or not. an inconsistent record isnt necessarily absolved bc people dont listen to albums as much

runtime isnt rlly my problem here tho admittedly more just speaking about the general statement

"you guys should check totem skin - weltschmertz, pretty unknown band that was short lived but very verge influenced"
