For whatever reason I just can't get into this record like I can get into the spacious luxury interior of a new 2021 BMW 4-Series. Sheer driving pleasure.

i think its fair to say this isnt a stone cold flawless classic, but one thing i appreciate about it even more in hindsight when compared to the bands that have been trying to imitate it for the last 15 years is the variety in tempo and ideas - slow down a bit here, throw in some pinch harmonics there, of course memorable writing always helps too

Of course he has, Shem. He helps construct those lovely BMW cars that keep your family safe on the road, and secure at home. His 5/5 scores now are from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. BMW. The ultimate driving machine.

It’s a real shame he never got anything else out there as you’re right that these inspired a wealth of tech-death bands back in the day. I remember hearing this at 16 with some friends and completely changing our bands sound but still never getting anywhere near this!

Who do you think got closest to catchy tech death?

Planetary Duality springs to mind?
