There's some uncannily clever bass work that pops up every now and then too. All of a sudden you lose track of what's driving the song for a few seconds and you realize it's the bass and it's it like "where did that come from?" but it flows perfectly.

Always had a thing for CD's over other formats, probably cause I grew up with them. I had cassettes for a while but my first CD was the Mortal Kombat soundtrack, where I heard my first "true" metal song (Fear Factory - Zero Signal). Hooked ever since haha.
