Despite the apparent mess, It's the most consistent Enter Shikari album since their debut.

definitely. i dig all their stuff, but this is their most fully realized and consistent album in addition to having so much shit to unpack. im so happy with it haha

I just realised they released the heaviest songs as singles, leaving the more classical and pop-rock songs for the first full listen.
Worked for me though, it was unexpected

I only checked Dreamer's Hotel before the album dropped, left the rest of the singles a surprise

I'm surprised how this really does have elements of all their previous albums, but is still a pop album like The Spark was without dirty screamy songs. The fact that I don't miss them at all speaks for the quality here

"Crossing the Rubicon" is such a great pop song
Played "Marionettes" on the radio today m/

Still madly in love with this thing, even after 22 listens, according to my last.fm. There isn’t a single track here I don’t love. Marionettes (I & II) has to be one of the best things the band has done.

yeah i think marionettes is my favorite shikari song now
|
| |
Marionettes is great on a conceptual level but to me it just comes off a little overblown, kinda gives me Muse vibes in a not-great way.
Still much better than any of the times Muse has tried to do SoCiAl CoMmEnTaRy, though.

I'm not sure Shikari really pulls off the 'epic' kind of sound but Marionettes just about manages to not cross that line.
But no more pls, it'll start to sound cringey

i think they pull it off really well and their sound in general feels really big to me anyway, but part 2 is the only one that feels like huge and "epic" to me. part 1 is still absolutely insane tho and i probably like it more between the two

I like Marionettes II better but both parts own

Great album, finally had the opportunity to listen to it all the way through uninterrupted. Might be a 4, I think this may be my favorite album of theirs

Might be my 2nd fave of theirs, or 3rd depending how I feel about Flash Flood of Colour on the day you ask me. Mindsweep will always be #1, that album is untouchable for me.

Mindsweep > Flash Flood > Rat Race > This > Everything else
That's my ranking but sometimes I feel like Flash Flood is better than Mindsweep at times

this
ttts
cd
rat race
mindsweep
flash flood
spark
both mindsweep and flash flood rule but have a couple songs each i cant get into that put it below the first two which i think are more consistent all the way through in addition to stronger high points. the spark is pretty consistent but it being such a streamlined record kinda takes out the fun that makes them compelling imo

This album is so good.
Honestly need to check out mindsweep based off the impressions I keep reading, wasn't a big fan of flash flood and dropped the band until I checked out the spark last year, which I enjoyed.
