Everyone wants to be a Dirt Emo singer now. Ruston Kelly, Jason Isbell, Zach Bryan, Gregor Barnett, the list will continue.

I can see a connection between Ruston Kelly and Zach Bryan, but jamming the Gregor Barnett album now and it seems to be a different animal. Jason Isbell is very much doing his own thing as well, much more out of the traditional alt-country movement.

A couple songs grew off me (No Peace of Mind to Rest), while others have gotten better (Oh Lord, At a Greyhound Station). I'm feeling a solid 4.1-4.2 on it right now, just wish he could have thrown a pure acoustic track somewhere in there!

hurry me down to hades has the most country cadence of any song on the album, like if he just added a little more twang to his singing in that song it would be a jam that any casual country fan would enjoy which is pretty funny to think about. My only problem with the song is that it gets pretty repetitive

Also, gotta love when Pika gets his hands on a release with 15 votes or few that people are enjoying so he can knock it outta the green section of New Releases. I can always count on you, Pika. Thanks

all of the songs are too repetitive aside from the closer ngl lol but hes usually repeating good enough parts that ive warmed up to it in that regard since i was initially not down w that. agree that hurry me down has way too many "hurry hurry hurry me's" but other than that i fw it

no peace of mind to rest is still my 2nd fav behind the closer. really gorgeous track

I think this has a bit of "singles are the best tracks" syndrome. Has a bit of an After the Party b-sides with reverb feel, but some of those type of songs are still very good.

Title track and I Can't Stop Drinking scratch some very very particular itch that I can't quite explain. But it makes me want to watch Escanaba in da Moonlight and drink cheap whiskey from a flask
