There's an ambience that I can only describe as disorienting. It feels like an identity crisis. PH was more direct in its message, this feels like Aaron drowning. As a bit of anti-hype, please be ready for this not to be as HEAVY in a screaming sense as what had been hyped. The middle of the album is fairly melodic and overall I'd say there's a lot less screaming than AB Life - but the screams when they do occur here are far more visceral. It's more unsettled/uncomfortable than uniformly ferocious, although it certainly has those moments as well.

Cheers man, certainly sounds like this is going to be a lot to process...

"I'd say there's a lot less screaming than AB Life - but the screams when they do occur here are far more visceral"

Given that one of my complaints with AB Life is that the screams come thick and fast like a blunt instrument but rarely sound as scorching as I'd have hoped (with the odd exception - Nice & Blue, Silencer), this sounds like something I can very much get behind

Did you order one of the special/bonus packages?

Either way, you can stream/download it on bandcamp until then.

It's the way the vocals harmonize in the second verse, and when it gets loud the guitars sound like them to me.

One of the few albums of the genre this year where I didn't get any BN vibes personally but I'm sure there's influence there

This just sounds singular and very referential of the band's own past to me

I hear BN a lot in the bass. Especially on songs like Wendy and Betsy (I really can’t shut up about how much I love that song)

Find it very interesting that Aaron says "Remember the story about the mermaid and the elephant" in the song but the lyrics replace elephant with "actor"
