if toby's facebook is to be believed (which it should be), it's sadly true. i'm really glad the dude spoke out about it and i can only assume he's in a better situation now. good for him.

i think it was about a month ago he made a big statement on his personal facebook about the abuse. kinda baffling, he's one of the most genuine dudes - a few of my friends have met him and only had the nicest things to say.

I just skimmed the new album, sounds great. Minimalistic and very pretty, more vocally driven than this.

It's no Alora Crucible but I really liked the instrumentals; didn't so much dig all the vocals or especially the lyrics. Wish there was an instrumental version, would love that.

Found this dreadfully boring after one full listen. Might skip on his newest album if it’s just more of this

the new one kinda reminded me of Cave at his most wallowing
so yeah I wouldn’t bother, lol
Pretty good tho I guess

Exactly. But this was a specific warning for gyro and his distaste for such things, lol
I mean they don’t exactly go for the same thing but I can see certainly see it

His vocals are great it's just that there's too much, mainly in the second and third songs which are my least favs, and I want to hear the instrumentals more here and there.

Yeah, Raven didn't do much for me. It lacks the atmosphere that Madonnawhore had. He also tries too hard with his vocals and even though I agree he is a better singer now, the compositional choices for the vocals just don't work for me here (also Blasphemy).

Been spinning Raven for a week now - completely agree with toolguitarkid, the instrumentation definitely takes a backseat on this latest album.
Also I may or may not be crazy, but like, I genuinely can't see how anyone can think Antinous In The Nile (track #3) is good - at all. It's like a bad parody of a mournful love ballad, it's so awkwardly sacarine. Even without the lyrics, it's a slog.

Haha yeah, I enjoy that song, but he really ought to have written more lyrics for that part.
