vheissu is sooooo tight and almost kinda sounds to me like all the alchemy index eps in 11 songs

For some reason I've always loved Vheissu but I've never really liked the alchemy index

The main way I look at them is their first 3 albums are on the heavier/post hardcore side, Vheissu and Alchemy are more on the experimental side, and everything after is the alt/rock version of them.

I'd even split that last group into pre- and post-hiatus, since Beggars and M/M had stronger lyricism and generally gritter writing, while TBEITBN & this are clearly vying for more mainstream audiences. The overall sound is similar but the two pairs of albums have notably different characters to them imo

Yeah, mine is definitely simplified. The first 3 albums could be considered to be in the same genre(s), but they still all sound pretty different from each other.
Beggars is my favorite of their alternative side, and for me, they have gone in a consistent downhill slide into this.

I tend to do a pre and post-haitus split as well

Ok ordered a (CD) copy of Vheissu. Yes I still buy CDs. Then maybe Alchemy. What about Ambulance and all the albums after Vheissu. There are quite a few.

Damn are they a Christian bAnd? Just not a religious guy in general and don’t like it in my music, no offense to anyone.

Didn't quite hit me at first, but after a few listens I'm loving this album! What Beggars should've been in my opinion. This is crucially underrated.

Vheissu, Ambulance, and Beggars are all you need from these guys. Throw in a few cuts from Alchemy vol. 1 and 2 as well and you're set. This one is fairly forgettable but I may need to give it one last spin to make sure. Haven't heard it since its release.

You're depriving yourself of a lot of good music/bands then

For starters, Thrice, Anberlin, Underoath before the new album lol, Emery, Mae, House of Heroes, August Burns Red, mewithoutYou (though there's definitely more than just Christianity going on there), As Cities Burn...

I'm not religious either, but I would say a large portion of the music I listen to at least has a christian element to the lyrics. As long as they aren't really preachy with it, I don't care.

Thrice has never sought out any sort of Christian coverage so I'd say as a band they're more secular than not so you're fine.

Cool I’m still gonna give them a shot. Doesn’t seem like there’s anything overt.
