Idk man I just like most of these songs more and it holds my interest better. I mean if you took the best 10-12 songs on OTM and shortened some of the ones that drag a bit it’d be about as good as this.

I don't get it either. OTM is a massive jump up from 7. Drunk in LA is awesome, and Woo is really good, but I struggle to think of another song from 7 I'd call memorable. I respect some of the experimentation, but it just doesn't come together in any kind of satisfying way. OTM is a masterpiece. 7 is a decent effort.

although I wouldn't go that far, this has a lot of memorable songs. but I just don't understand why ppl will say OTM is boring but then love an album with songs like Pay No Mind on it

really hard for me to decide if Bloom or OTM is their best, but Devotion is second, Teen Dream is third, DC is 4th and this is 5th

I rate OTM, Bloom and DC as their best (in that order). Have never really listened to Devotion or their debut, so can't speak for them. I was kind of late to appreciate Beach House...

Devotion is their most hypnotic album. also their most beachy
|

Just as long as it isn't their most housey... I'll give it a proper go. Love hypnotic.

"their most housey"
the thought of them making a house album makes me shudder

Become is very different to OTM - the songs clearly don't fit the ethos of the album - more similar to TYLS I think. I could see why some are gushing about it, but I'm a little underwhelmed so far, (only listened a couple of times though).

I don't know Devotion very well, but it's a pretty listen. Devil's Pool is my highlight.
