I've had the privilege of seeing these guys live a few times. They make great music, but holy shit do they not give a fuck about there audience. When they were playing Coma Ecleptic in its entirety I've never seen a band leave the stage as fast as they did. And when I saw them play Colors in it's entirety once again 0 stage presence. They're still fucking pissed that most of there fans wanted to hear some epics like Selkies and will go out of there way to play some shit before than if they ever do play an encore.
That being said this album is the best thing they have done in the last decade. And even though I may not see some of there best material being played I am more than happy to see these guys grow as a band and progress (no pun intended) in there career.

i saw them on the coma tour that was AWFUL and I regret it now but the colors tour was legit, dusty has some plates in his back or some shit so he can't move much when he's playing

IDK dudes when I saw them play Coma they were stiff as fuck. Played all the notes and had some fat fuck who was black out drunk in the front row sing all the cleans. Like I said when they played velvet they unplugged and left while the whole room was chanting for an encore.
Colors was a little better though. Better songs in general, but the band was still stiff as fuck and actually played an encore. That being said it was a song from the Silent Circus. And even though it was great it was as if they were just throwing a bone to the audience cause it was a 10th anniversary tour and not a fan favorite.

Unfortunately when you hear a track from this and listen to something from their previous work such as Disease, Injury, Madness.. it is undeniable that it is leagues and leagues better than anything on Automata

Yeah this album doesn't match their best work but I still love it.

Considering Coma Ecliptic has like zero energy throughout the album I'd expect the show to be the same. I've seen them live a few times and their presence for Automata by far was their best delivery.
The change up for the end of Coma Machine on this tour was dope though.

I think the studio version of Coma Ecliptic has a lot of energy, the problem they had with it live was there where no backing vocals behind Tommy's leads, making the whole thing sound thin, and didn't have quite the oomph that studio version brought (and if you say that studio version has no energy, relisten to it cause you aren't remembering it correctly)
