Does it sound anything like *shels or dillinger or, god forbid, a cross of both? Because those comparisons make me more flaccid than an ice bath. But I have listened to almost nothing from 2018 and I need to start somewhere...

i don't think so, but lol why hate *shels
|
| |
I don't hate *shels, but I'm completely underwhelmed by everything I've heard by them. Maybe except for butterflies on lucy's way. I really can't dislike that track even if I wanted to

I totally forgot that this was recently released. Average rating definitely makes me want to hear this. Band is cool and their discography is consistent so really looking forward to listening.

I would say this is ten steps ahead of the rest of their discog thus making their current discog now inconsistent.
Also Dillinger sucks

I'm a bit shook for how much love this is getting. Album burns out fast, bit too slow and unoriginal compared to all their previous albums. I feel that Grievances hits the nail in the head in everything they tried to do here.

This is a lot more ambitious than previous records. The ideas are executed wonderfully well and it feels more wholesome in comparison to the rest of their albums.
Rituals kicks ass though.

it's way more cohesive than their other albums (which are still great) and they expand their sound into some truly stratospheric shit, grievances is great but I completely disagree, the ideas presented here are way more fleshed out and coherent

It runs smoothly from start to finish. Possible AOTY.
