Well out of all of Bjork's records, this feels like the one to nail its sense of worldbuilding. It defies conventionality for texture and sonic imagination better than anything she's done. Besides Vespertine and Homogenic this is one of her most fully realized projects and I really do believe it can stand up with her classic four.

The problem I have with it is that it is just not that enjoyable for large parts of its length. I can admire it for conceptual or technical reasons, but I rarely listen to it.
And Sue Me is really, really bad song.

this one really wore off for me but it's still way better than the album before it. i feel like on the whole bjork has kind of lost 'it' since biophilia, and has certainly never come remotely close to the heights of vespertine. based on the singles i think this new album is going to be weak

this album brings an energy that her albums since Medulla have tended to lack. I'm not really sure I get why a lot of people were lukewarm on this one considering there are parts you can actually dance too. i can tell that enjoying this new one is going to feel like more of an "intellectual exercise" but like c'mon i don't wanna think any more i just want something i can fuck to
