I’d also listen to this over any Kanye Tupac or jay z album

I still enjoy the Slim Shady LP a lot, the stories are still great but yes I’d jam this over Kanye or Jay Z no doubt 🤣

"Considering that cds are the worst physical format of all time I’d say this is a great first cd"
Not going to swing at the hornet's nest that is vinyl discourse here but if your stance is really that cassettes are better than CDs as a way to listen to commercial recordings I would like a citation plz
|
| |
I don’t think I need a citation for an opinion
But yes I prefer cassettes
I’d spend money on a cassette
You’d have to pay me to take a CD

Don't get me wrong i like cassettes too but the difficulty of track seeking alone makes them a distant third to the other two. I know CDs aren't as sexy but there's a reason no one came up with any new ways to physically store music after they hit the market
|
| |
Like I’d rather just have 5.59 in × 4.92 in × 0.39 in of extra space for absolutely nothing than own a single cd
|
| |
Track seeking isn’t a function I care about for physicals. I buy physicals to listen front to back. Digital is the ultimate convenience for sound quality and accessibility so it renders all the perks of cds mute for me, and the only thing left is novelty. cds have no novelty imo where tapes and vinyl do. The only thing I like cds for is burning mixtapes for the whip, but I don’t even do that anymore.

I’m not gonna tell you I think tapes sound better than cds, and although I do prefer a GOOD pressing of a record to a cd, bad pressings also sound worse than cds in general, but when I am looking for objective quality I have the ol inteweb.
The primary reason to own physical formats in this era is for the sake of that physicality and that’s pretty much it. And cds just aren’t “cool”

There’s nothing less sexy on the entire planet than a greasy cracked jewel case and a smudgy scratched up disc lol

Quad lyfe

Man any time cassettes come up it reminds me of the couple of years where the Sub Pop Bandcamp page had all their cassettes (which included digital downloads) listed for like 4 dollars less than the digital download alone, good times
|
| |
That’s so sick, and kind of why I love cassettes. They are still novel like vinyl but usually dirt cheap alternatives and you still get to own something neat.

Haha pots my mom and dad bought me prozac CDs too when I was younger. And creed. Ugh
|
| |
I forgot Prozac even existed until this moment. I think I even remember one of the names being Milo

"Empower your childhood self Gyro - this shit was dope as a teenager, it was heavy, catchy and rude, just what the kids need!"
Lol yeah I mean tbf I did love the hell out of this when I was a teen. I still think there are some great songs here (I'm so over Boiler tho). Their first two albums are legit underrated imo
|

My first concert was also Prozac
|

Disturbed. I honestly don't know which is worse
|

Disturbed is worse

Limp will always be a fun band no matter what they do so long as the partnership of Durst and Borland remains intact.

I'm 32 and I'm still into cassettes, even though I don't have any cassette player in my house....
