it's mixed horribly and it's practically begging for vincents voice - swing and a miss.

I am not vibing Are you there 2. Why do i have a feeling Weather Systems will be chasing the coattails of Anathema rather than pushing to stand out as its own project. The song did not have to be as long as it was

Worst Anathema easy but still not bad.

Sums it up yeah...it's in a fight with the slightly awkward 'A Fine Day to Exit' for that title and takes the crown because 'Fine Day' has a couple of Anathema essentials on there.

Watched Danny's new band Weather Systems in London last night - crazy going from the polish of latter day Anathema performances, but the band had a lot of heart and he played some great versions of Anathema songs.
Danny isn't really a lead vocalist and the girl seemed to be struggling a bit too, possibly due to technical reasons. Also Danny has clearly gone through the wringer in terms of mental health - he looked like a hybrid of Uncle Fester, Axl Rose and Elton John, has put on a lot of weight.
For seven years out of the game and to come back from panic attacks and a total crisis of confidence in playing live, while also adapting to lead vocals of songs written for a stronger singer, it was a really impressive performance.

The wringer of age

Saw one of their last concerts. Looked like the band members would be anywhere else but on stage and not together. Very strange/sad/awkward experience but in hindsight, guess it had some obvious reasons.

'The wringer of age'
Wouldn't leave his house for a year and also a near miss suicide attempt, allegedly.
Hope it works for him now, lot of gallows humour up there, but he's smiling.

'but in hindsight, guess it had some obvious reasons.'
He was losing it on stage, anxiety, and I guess someone with depression and the rest...tough to be around, however much you support the bloke.

Zak - 'Simple Mistake' was immense, running through 'Untouchable 1-3' in a row really hit me too, not listened to that stuff in over a year and back in 2012-2015 sort of time those songs were huge for me.
I still rate 'Untouchable pt.1' as the best tune of 2012.

i found some videos of their recent live performances (weather systems) and it's rough - what shocked me was getting the lyrics wrong in several anathema songs. they seemed a lot more comfortable playing weather systems stuff but more than half the set was anathema if youtube was anything to go by, which i find rather odd.
very conflicting feelings about what is essentially touring as an anathema tribute rather than the new band they say they are. that said, calling the band 'weather systems' was already a deliberate attempt at ensuring anyone searching for anathema would find this new project as opposed to growing organically, as well as 'sequels' to are you there and untouchable (which both compositions absolutely did not need). i have no doubt had anathema stayed together these tracks would have never ended up on an anathema record due to their redundancy.
i'm really having a hard time having any sympathy for danny - call it cold hearted but he entirely set up this scenario of a crowd that expects anathema quality before the band has had a chance to stretch their legs. my own experiences in talking to him no doubt shaped this opinion as every time i've spoken to him he's been a pompous, insufferable and pretentious twat. i'm clearly biased from these experiences, but once again, the blame for that firmly falls on him. with this in mind it's really hard to imagine a scenario that doesn't place him in the middle of the fault for anathema's breakup in the first place but that is speculation on my part.
in any case, i find it extremely difficult to have any sort of charitable view towards danny. i wish him well in regards to his mental health - if what he states is true that must have been awful to go through. but i won't be going to see weather systems or supporting them on that basis.

Yeah i think i agree with Noctus here. The other brother is doing his own thing as well and is seperate and has no ties to Anathema
