Man the first half of this has some killer songs but boy howdy does it drop off in quality. Especially compared to albums in a similar genre such as Walk the Moon's latest. There's an art to keeping pop rock going for a whole album in an interesting way.

For example I'm listening to 'Idle Worship' as I type this and fuck is that song weak

The long exaggerated singing on Riot (and their other early stuff) is way more whiny than the happy-but-sad melodies on here.
