I believe this theory has already been stated, but I feel required to say it again:

Metallica has a huge fan base. They could continue to throw out crap like this for years to come, and we (the fan base) would buy it, then get pissed off at it. Then the cycle just repeats itself. Write crap - we buy - pissed off - make more crap.

A wise friend of mine once said, "Metallica needs to get the f**k out of the studio and just tour for the rest of their life!"

Nah, I like they're going to improve^. Perhaps not all at once but I think their next album will be a little better then the one after that will be better and so forth.

Considering master of puppets, ...and justice for all, and ride the lighting this is crap on a stick. The whole cd lacks dedicated passion and focus.

I guess this is, like almost everything in music, a matter of taste and opinion. Personally i think this is pretty good.

not a terrible album that most make it out to be. but compared to master of puppets and the black album it is. theres definitely some good riffage in some of these tracks, but deciding to take out the solos and still having 6+ minute songs was a mistake. songs just get too repetative so it sounds like youve listened to every song twice before the album is over. im lookin forward to their new one, i hope they let Rob, their new bassist put some input in, hes really good.
