Well... I'm trying but I can't legitimately find a flaw in this.

The only possible flaw I can find in this is Nick's ugly performance in I Need You, but... at the same time... it's kinda brilliant and I wouldn't want it any other way.

I Need You rambles a bit, but it is probably my 2nd or 3rd favorite song on here. Them synths.

Can't get through California. :/ I'm gonna inevitably give it a 2.5 tbh.

I've listened to the t/t about a hundred times and I still don't understand it. What do you think Toad?

Wydler's drumming on Anthrocene is so brilliantly understated yet strange

Edit: Although that's basically his work on all of this and PtSA

the t/t's feel just washes over you, it's really a kind of release compared to the other songs, which feel a bit strained (tl;dr - the whole album could be seen as Cave slowly progressing through the stages of grief, or something like that; I may be reaching, but the t/t really does feel different, as if Cave has come to accept what has happened)

Nice interpretation, you've seen to have put my thoughts into words well. It's a track that comes and goes.

I think it's a desperate sort of acceptance that he doesn't really believe himself bought is just trying to force himself to grasp. Like, the whole song paints a devastatingly lonely atmosphere, these individual images like TV static and leafless trees blowing against the barren sky, which clashes with the "alrights" at the end of the song, as if he's trying to say it's alright when clearly the world is dead place all around. It strikes me as a really dark sort of closer.
