Modest Mouse with Brand New back in 2014 was one of the best concerts I've ever been to

Green Baron and SnakeDelilah were there too they can attest

Saw them both in Nashville last July and it was one of the better shows I've seen. No openers either so it was all MM and BN. Was good shit.

So yeah In The Water is extremely Moon and Antarctica-esque imo

pre-order and grab the digital download from their site, it's got the full tracklist and all. or just look on wikipedia for where each track ends

137 comes pretty fucking close to topping Jesus/Limousine imo

2ND listen surpassed the first
It's at least as good as TDAG for me, just different

I saw MM and BN last year; I primarily went for MM and figured that BN would be a cool nostalgia bonus, but BN wound up absolutely killing it live while MM struggled to keep up

was anyone else during 451 hoping for a callback to The Archers Bows Have Broken? the vocal melody in the chorus is similar to the verse in Archers. like god damn, i was so ready for "GO BACK TO MY HOLE IN THE WOODS ON THE GROUND, CAUSE THE GOD I BELIEVE IN NEVER WORKED ON A CAMPAIGN TRAIL"

no, just me? that's cool. the song is outstanding though and that key change is just mmmmmmmmmmmmm fuck

also so far i can't say i love it as much as the rest of ya, it's in 4 range right now ( i can see it getting to a 4.5) and will most likely end up being my 2nd favorite album by them since it's the closest to TDAG BUT...

i'm just SO happy that this isn't bad. like, wow it's almost as if they released it 3 years after Daisy like a normal band and this was the natural follow-up/what I would be expecting from them. that's a good feeling considering "I am a Nightmare" exists and is their worst song ever.
