I don't know man, maybe difficult isn't the right word but I'm thinking about albums that were maybe 3.5s at best for me on first listen but after a half dozen spins they really clicked and my rating went up.
If I had never given them at least a couple of good focused listen that 3.5 would still be there. Not everyone has to do that I guess, but not everyone is always willing too either, and I think that's what is meant by "difficult"

I mean yeah I have noticed he says some questionable statements when he talks about metal albums. If this album was "difficult" to listen to I guarantee it wouldn't have a 4.6 avg on here.

"he would be an sjw moron"
Fantano's pretty anti-SJW surprisingly... I had always pegged him as very likely to be an SJW.

Well that's good. Yeah I was totally just pegging him based on his hipster fashion and college-age demographic lol

Yeah LCD took a few listens but damn it's amazing.
Still not sure about Psychotropia. If there's a weak track for me, that's it.

Ultimate Artificer, Psychotropia and Pteropticon are merely pretty damn good tracks, compared to the other ones all being some of the best thrash songs I've ever heard.
When people point out the middle portion of the album dragging a bit, I can understand the sentiment. Even if I still dig the the weaker songs a lot.
They probably could have cut a tiny bit. But to me, the highs are so incredibly high that I just don't care. And I really can listen to this start to finish over and over with no problems.

Yeah but Pteropticon is just...I mean...whoa. Maybe it's because I haven't listened to dozens of hours of thrash but I don't understand how anyone could be bored with that song.

Yeah. After my millionth listen I'm starting to feel Pteropticon quite a bit. And I think you're probably right about Psychotropia.

I need to get more into the storyline here, I have a feeling Psychotropia would make more sense in that context.
Never much cared for Face of Melinda until I learned Still Life's story.
