Iron Maiden, zak. Hearing BNW for the first time was a life-changing experience. Instantly bought their entire discography the day after. Remember listening to their albums randomly until six in the morning each day during winter break. Epic times.

I've heard the entirety of WR and the one before it several times and I just don't get the appeal. I pretty much hated all Beezer-core right off the bat haha

Terry Beezer, he was a metal hammer reviewer. He basically promoted bands like Shikari, Gallows, Lower than Atlantis, Letlive, etc. when they just started to hit the scene. Always hated the guy's taste.

Reason I know about it so much is that my mate who got me into music had a kerrang and mh subscriptions. He would let me borrow the latest issues off him, and that's pretty much how I discovered new music back in the day. I remember I'd read about bands and go on their myspace pages and check out the songs they had streaming. That was a very long time ago haha

I will always maintain that Letlive.'s first should be remembered as top tier post-hardcore; prefer it to glassjaw, and honestly refused. It's a shame Jason Butler bought into his hype and became shite

The names Beezer, Terry Beezer and I dig Lower than Atlantis.

Tel the bell.

That moment when you realise that Fake History isn't Letlive's debut haha

Can't stand the band. They've always sounded like cheap Glassjaw copycats to me. Butler can't sing at all, he's even worse live. And they don't come even close to GJ in terms of drumming or the awesome wall of sound guitarwork present on WT or debut.

haha you were ahead of me there - i really disagree though, i think fake history is glassjaw without the cheese (though i understand the contentiousness of this!)

I can see why people would be put off by Glassjaw, lyrics especially. However, I'm no lyrics man, so I always just ignore whatever Daryl is yelling into the mic as long as he maintains his swag delivery style.

I'm 30, pretty sure that's very close to Mort

On a semi-related note, I think I first heard converge in 2009, when I was 19.

Pretty sure i heard converge around 2012 when i would have been 16 or so. was round about when All We Love came out. i credit them with getting me into heavier hardcore and metal, eg moving away from kerrangcore and dance gavin dance
