I've been trying to get into Meshuggah since 01 and man, they have just never clicked for me. Love Combustion, but after that track I've usually had enough.

All the Spiritbox chat in this thread reminds me of the time my ex bandmate showed me Spiritbox and I was like “yeah cool they sound really Tesseract influenced” and he outright ARGUED with me that Spiritbox sounded “nothing like” Tesseract

I mean, they don't sound like Tesseract, they're just influenced by them, like you said; probably mainly from the atmospheric quality this band oozes. Their self-titled is heavily influenced by Tesseract, pretty sure Courtney has already said that. Your mate sounds out of the loop here lol.
