i could probably list at least 100 albums this year that are vastly superior, it would be pretty easy, that list could have some pretty average albums on it.

get the new Hiatus Kaiyote Matt

I don't like this THAT much either but it's mostly because I can't relate to the subject matter/lyrics tbh, it's pretty easy to see what's the appeal and some parts of this were quite touching.. gonna give this more spins eventually

i can get someone not liking this as much, but this is far from average. the guitar work alone is absolutely magical - especially in songs like death with dignity. i'm genuinely surprised you don't like this, pots. this is really beautiful, sad, sad stuff. despite me relating better to the subject matter, this is still very touching (regarding the music)

not for me. i get why you love it though obviously, given the concept and themes.

but i disagree about the guitar work being magical. disregarding everything conceptual about this album its nothing but a derivative indie folk album with some light (albeit largely aimlessly meandering) atmospherics for me. but i can appreciate the content altho i think there are many far better albums dealing with similar subject matter, within the same genre and without.

will check out that album, pots. but stop with the hate brother. this is definitely familiar-sounding, but i feel like he sharpened his folksy-side to gold standard here.

also lol comparing it to bob dylan obviously makes no sense whatsoever
