I don't think Thinking has held up as well over the years for me, but I remember loving it when I first got a hold of it. It still has a couple of songs I like to revisit but I pretty much never throw the whole album on.



Larkin, the main riff/chorus of Under the Knife really bothers me. Usually, I don't mind when Chevelle does the thing where the vocals are chugging along with the riff, but I kinda hate it on that song.

Point #1 is a great track, gotta love the Tool vibes

This Type Of Thinking is never my first pick when I wanna listen to them but whenever I do get around to it I get pretty nostalgic and I do think it has some of their best work. Whenever Clincher comes on and the chorus hits it takes me back!

This Type was my favorite for years, but it’s now near the bottom of my Chevelle rankings (still give it a solid 3.5).

Take Out the Gunman is such a jam

I don't know why, but it seems like they have been stuck in the same sound since hats off to the bull...

Disagree. I think Sci Fi and Hats Off sound most similar and are my personal favorite Chevelle albums — perfect balance of heavy and melody. Then I would say this and North Corridor are similar in that they’re heavy as hell — this one does it extremely well and is one of their best albums, while TNC flails a bit.

Point and TNC are their worst imo, but still 3.5s. Chevelle and Deftones are two of the most consistent bands.



When I first got into Chevelle This Type of Thinking was my favorite. Now it’s somewhere in the middle.



Best Chevelle albums imo are Sci fi Crimes, Wonder What’s Next, La Gargola and Hats Off to the Bull.
