Their first three albums have some great songs, Firebird being the only one that's excellent throughout, but it generally doesn't reach the height of the later ones for me. It feels a bit like an amalgam of all their neo-prog influences.

They didn't really find themselves until Firebird.

Night is my favorite but I need to hear their older stuff. Can't wait for the new one

Still haven't really given these guys a proper listen. Is this album the place to start?

Wow Jamie. Never have you been so wrong about an album

@bnelso: I'd give Night a listen first. This is more difficult to digest for most listeners.
@Gyro: I'd argue he's more off base with Heritage, but it's a close call for sure.

Thanks, Underflow. I'll start there. Looking at the band's ratings I figured that might be another good starting point.

Yeah, for sure. Night is probably the easiest of their concept albums to get into, and it also happens to be one of their best.

Sorry Gyro, I just hate this type of stuff and this was particularly annoying to my ears for some reason.
lol Underflow, you may have noticed that the general consensus among Sput regulars is much more positive towards Heritage these days, maybe you'll come around to it soon too.

Death Room came up on shuffle, but I was distracted and didn't recognise what it was; I said to myself "okay, I'm going to sleep after this song", looked at my iPod and was like "Great, quarter of an hour extra." It hit me harder than ever; extraordinary song.
