Shadows are you talking about the stuff going on around the 3 minute mark? if so, i see what you're getting at, but imo the song needs that stuff to keep things off kilter. like, a lot of their stuff is complex like that but the beginning and end of Drown Within is some of the most straight forward stuff on the album. so without that off kilter middle section it wouldn't be as strong of an opener, to me

no it happens around 2:10 in

Has anyone seen them live? I'm curious to know if they're able to capture the same level of intensity when live as on record - I know they have to recruit a second guitarist, but things I've seen on Youtube suggest they're tight as anything.

damn i need to see them

'I saw them live with no second guitarist. It was just the trio and they were unbelievably powerful. The guitarist's pedalboard was massive. He cut his head open during the show and bled everywhere.'
That's actually incredible, to only do that with 3 people is something seriously admirable given how dense and layered they feel. It's good how Jamie's drumming is intricate and complex but doesn't feel showy, as Michael and Paul complement it so well.

He cut his head open during the show and bled everywhere.
That sounds more like a black metal show. How'd he do that?

Their facebook page said they are writing for a new album.

Not really sure where they'd take their sound after Vermis. Finding a middle ground between your last two records can sometimes drive you into a stylistic corner
