"with their finales being among my all time favorite episodes of the shows"
O_O it's funny you say that, given my thoughts on the Air finale. Though that moment of Noatak and Tarrlok was fucking fantastic, almost out of place considering how good it was. (Did Amon know his brother was gonna blow them up? Probably not, but I like the implication that he was aware and chose not to bloodbend Tarrlok and force him to live a new life)
and yes Zuko is fucking awesome, that's why I love Earth so much. I think it also had some of Aang's best moments ('The Avatar State' and 'The Desert' come to mind). And then how they kept building up to Ba Sing Se for like 35 episodes, and then we find out it's actually a shithole. Brilliant.
I like Fire as well, but it seemed to be a little less connected to the overall plot, as I've said before. But it's otherwise perfect for me. And Change was literally non-stop full throttle, always intriguing. And Zaheer & co were really effective villains.
I do agree Water had a brilliant ending, I really liked Koizilla as a demonstration of the fearsome might of the Avatar. And the moon slaying was a great bit of lore building as well.

Though Zaheer'a voice acting is pretty terrible, his character as a whole is awesome and yea that whole season is incredible.

nah I really dug his voice acting. the way he said things in this really straight and clear way with the frankness and slight lack of expression akin to a military officer really got me.

I thought it was pretty alright, I definitely thought it'd be deeper given the character design, but I got used to it. And he's such a strange character (I mean he's fucking detached from the Earth, wtf?) that I can forgive any gaffes in voice acting.
Jinora's voice actress bugs me way more, although apparently she's really great in Mad Men?

Oh dude I love her voice acting. And yea she's fantastic in Mad Men.

I still need to check out Mad Men but it looks so boring

Really? Lol she has so many awkward lines. The one that comes to mind is her delivery of "There haven't been this many airbenders in one place in a long time either. We have strength in numbers."
It's like this really weird transition where she starts off speaking calmly, as if she's making an observation. And then it becomes angry. Super, super weird. She has some other off deliveries that made me go "huh?" too, but I can't think of any others off the top of my head

Ehh Zaheer's actor is so bad but it kinda adds to Zaheer's appeal now that I take about it. Though I do love his line "Say hello to the Earth Queen for me!" line or whatever he says haha

Idk dude, not many people play a middle aged anarchist dude better than Henry Rollins TBH. Will agree to disagree there.
And yeah, that line is sweet lol.

Kai looks like fucking Jaden Smith from After Earth. It's actually kinda funny.

I guess we know who's going to be Kai's actor in the newest edition of Shyamalan's abortion

Hahaha, I wonder why that is...

I wonder if he's just covering his own ass or if he even realizes how terrible he is.
|
| |
No, it's the fact that he completely butchered every aspect of the source material AND the fact that he used the wrong race for
every character. Did he even read any review for his disaster? Lol

Yeah I was joking about Kai being in the latest Shyamalan movie, wouldn't even make sense since he doesn't show up until Book 3 of Korra...
And Shyamalan's direction was the least of the problems of that movie. How about fucking horrendous acting, hilariously bad scaling of bending, the changes to the source material (including the fucking names), and yes the awful casting. I mean fuck, I almost want to see what he did in Book 2 with Guru Pathik, given Indian people already are the Fire Nation.
Although his direction was pretty horrible, they made Aang a humorless punk. That's like the opposite of his personality (and apparently the actor for Aang was a pretty good fit... a black belt at his age and a pretty goofy kid in the extra).
ugh why couldn't they get Peter Jackson or something
|
| |
Or Chris Nolan or anyone else. I would have even accepted Michael bay over him lol. Man I destroyed that movie as yes the acting was some of the worst I've seen in a long time. Special effects were horrible and the fights were boring too.
|
| |
Oh god, a Micheal Bay version of The Last Airbender.
@Snide, it's not the worst Shyamalan movie out there, it's just so ridiculously dull and it makes no sense in the process. The Nostalgia Critic review for it if you haven't.

Don't get me wrong I'd hate MB at the helm for TLA movie but at least his movies are dumb fun. TLA was completely devoid of the gleeful humor and depth of the series and it was so bleak too. Plus it's also funny to read reviews for critics who haven't seen the show. Lots of them say they had no idea what the fuck was going on lol that is why you don't condense a 20 episode season into 90 minutes. It can't be done in that short amount of time.

Fuck Michael Bay, he ruined both Transformers and TMNT, the bastard.

I agree with Mongi here. I hate Michael Bay, but TLA was so self-serious. The Transformer movies were at least a little lighter
