I fine with the production on this, but there is something slightly more charming about the rawer production on Vaya.

One of my favorite albums ever.

There's so much energy in this.

Just saw these guys live last week, it was unbelievable.

This album changed my fucking life in 2010. Tried to get everyone I knew at the time into it, but they weren't having it until years later.

Never been able to stand Cedric's vocals. He was even worse in the mars volta imo

He quickly turned into one of my favorites. I like that powerful tenor emo-tinged caterwaul.

I don't know who I find more grating, cedric or claudio

Claudio's definitely the worse of the two, but I love his vocals too.

"this album changed my life in 2010"

yeah, that was around the time i started getting into this album, and weed, both at the same time. weed sucks for me now, but back then it was still fresh and got me high, and combined with this album was like this weirdly euphoric yet dysphoric high. in retrospect it was a little too intense. but the album has stuck, the songwriting is so good yet so frenetic.

i'm constantly wondering whether this is better than yank crime or not.

yank crime did it first, this did it better. but doing it better doesn't make it a better album, it just means they had more finesse and power to their sound. yank crime has some of the best droning i've ever heard.
